Our Team :: Liezl Zabala's Bio
Liezl Zabala joined Mugs Media in April 2007 and serves as anchor, reporter and producer of Skylands Weekly.
In addition, Zabala works for the Township of Union, serving as a field reporter and producer for the community’s local cable station.
Before joining Mugs Media, Zabala worked at NBC News, where she served as an associate producer for “NBC Weather Plus”, the network’s weather station. Zabala produced and edited coverage of breaking weather and environmental news events such as hurricanes and Global Warming.
Previously, Zabala served as a traffic producer for WHTZ-FM Z100 in New York City where she was responsible for writing, producing and updating traffic scripts for on-air talent in the New York market. Zabala also worked at NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw during the 2004 Presidential Election. While in college, Zabala served as Assistant News Director for WSOU-FM 89.5 and Public Relations Director for the on campus American Red Cross organization.
Zabala is a graduate of Seton Hall University, where she obtained a degree in Broadcast Journalism and minor in Chemistry. She currently resides in Union, New Jersey.
